Graduated from the University of Peradeniya, Sri Lanka, in 1998. After migrating to Australia in 2008, he completed the Australian Medical Council(AMC) exams with additional training at Mildura Base Hospital.

He has been working in General practice since 2013 and has gained Fellowship of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners. In addition to general practice, he enjoys singing, travelling and gardening.
