    by GroupOne Medical

Book your FREE health check up if you are 45–49-year olds

Free full body health checks up! Yes, you read that right! All you need to do is fall into the category of 45-49 years of age and the government along with the healthcare provider shall take care of the rest.

If you are an Australian citizen aged between 45-49 years, you are entitled to a thorough physical and mental health check up. This age group has been identified by the Australian government as the one with the highest risk of developing chronic health ailments or health complications that might require intensive care and regular medication.

To avail the free healthcare consultation, reach out to us and book your health checkup at Group One Medical Centre at any time of your convenience. For any such consultation, you will not be charged, as the entire amount will be borne by the government. Any amount that you might need to pay as part of further medical investigations and consultations, if necessary, are covered under Medicare.

Some of us are at a greater health risk and may need additional tests. The charges of such tests will also be covered in the Medicare. You no longer have to worry about paying a hefty sum to get access to quality healthcare.

The Government of Australia aims to bring better healthcare to your doorstep. The target group of 45-49 years old should have better access to medical attention to avert the chances of life threatening conditions in old age.

    WHY THE FREE CONSULTATION?

Because, why not! A consultation in time puts you in a position of advantage. You will know if you have been suffering from any underlying health issues. This will help you to intervene just in time to arrest the growth of any medical problem.

Often many people realise that they might be prone to some lifestyle disease or some ailment that runs in their family. A timely intervention can help delay the onset of such problems or even prevent some.

The consultation being free, you have nothing to lose. You will only gain a better insight about your health and well being. The government initiative for those between 45-49 years of age is all to your advantage. Your physician at Group One Medical Centre will be able to assess your health status and recommend any changes that you might need to incorporate in your daily life.

A consultation between 45-49 years becomes all the more important for a section of the population. Those who have a family history of diseases that might pass on from one generation to the next, or those with lifestyle induced health problems like obesity or diabetes are at greater risk. Consult our physician to know more about the ways to tackle them.

WHAT TO EXPECT DURING THE CONSULTATION?

Our physicians are trained and poised to take care of all your health needs. The consultations are comprehensive in nature, so all aspects of your physical and mental health are assessed and evaluated. For this purpose, the physician at Group One Medical Centre will ask you multiple questions about your daily life.

You will have to share any details about your lifestyle that might impact your health. The physician will try to assess whether you have an active or a sedentary lifestyle. Some questions about diseases in the family are also likely. Another important part is your food preference and your medication for chronic ailments.

Sharing true details to your physician at our Group One Medical Centre is important to accurate diagnosis. The physician may then prescribe the required changes in your daily routine, like effective exercise and some medications if needed. He/She may also refer you to a specialist if they believe that some real need of the same is there.

During the consultation, you will know about any health problem that might be developing, and learn about ways to tackle them effectively. Some changes may also slow the progress of some diseases, so you can live a happier and healthier life.

Taking care of yourself is important, especially when you are ageing. The 45-49 years free healthcare consultation plays an important part where you learn more about your body and mind, and take active steps for ageing like a fine wine. Reach out to our medical center today and book a free consultation at a date and time of your choice. We are happy to assist you in your journey to a healthier half century and after.

Appointments for the FREE health check up can be made online through our website, through the HotDoc, in person at reception or by calling 039086 8956

Book Your Flu Shot for $15 Now!

    by GroupOne Medical

Book Your Flu Shot for $20 Now!

Its $15 for everyone including students and other visa holders

Getting vaccinated against anything and everything is always a wise choice. A sizable section of the population in the country becomes seriously ill owing to diseases as common as the Flu or Influenza. It is thus always right that you vaccinate yourself to help prevent the spread of Flu, so that no person has to suffer from the yearly bouts of flu.

We at Group One Medical Centre have a flu vaccination drive. Though Influenza peaks around June to September, a smaller number of cases are seen throughout the year. Don’t wait for the next annual peak of Influenza, and get yourself and your loved ones vaccinated right away.

    WHY GET THE SHOT

Many of us suffer from flu and flu like symptoms almost every year, and even more than once a year when we are in close contact with an affected person. While the impacts may not be lethal, most of us experience high body temperature, cold and exhaustion as a result of it.

For those in the working population, your productivity goes down. For the kids, who would want to see them confined to their beds for a few days every year? It is thus very much essential to take the flu vaccine, not only for yourself but for your loved ones as well.

Often without knowing, we even transmit the flu to other people whose health and defense against influenza might not be very strong. Such people may have to suffer the consequences of what appears to us as simple cold and fever.

The immunity against influenza lasts for only a year, so you need to take the shot every year to prevent the same from infecting you. If you were down with the flu last year, this year you are equally likely to be affected, and thus the need arises for annual vaccination.

When you get vaccinated, you make a conscious effort to prevent flu from spreading to those with critical illnesses, or the infants and the older generation. Shed the shyness and take the shot now. If you happen to belong to the vulnerable section of the population, you can get an influenza vaccine at Group One Medical Centre.

WHAT ARE THE SYMPTOMS OF FLU?

Influenza, or what we more commonly call Flu, spreads very fast and impacts almost everyone every year. Being airborne, and spreading also through contaminated surfaces, it is difficult to arrest the growth and spread of the flu causing virus.

Any person who is not vaccinated may catch flu just as easily. If you experience all or most of the following symptoms, you are very likely to be infected with the influenza virus-

    • High body temperature or fever
    • Effects like common cold, with sore throat, congestion and dry coughs
    • Feeling lethargic to do any work that you do with ease on a regular basis
    • Pain in muscles and joints, typically arms, legs and back ache
    • Headache and minor dizziness arising out of weakness
    • Among people aged 60+ years, confusion is very common

CAN I GET AFFECTED WITHIN A FEW DAYS OF TAKING THE SHOT?

No, vaccination against flu is needed once a year. When done on time, you can feel safe for the year to come. Only at the turn of the year are you vulnerable again. So, take the next shot just in time and say adios to influenza.

ARE THERE ANY SIDE EFFECTS OF INFLUENZA VACCINE?

Yes, like any vaccine, the Influenza vaccine too has some minor side effects. This is your body’s way of showing its developing immunity against the influenza virus, and is not a cause of concern. Right after getting the shot, you may have similar symptoms to that of influenza, but far milder. Many people don’t even notice this in particular. Such an effect might stay merely as long as 2 days, and you are set free for the year to come.

Some common side effects of the flu vaccine can be very minor fever, along with pain in joints and muscles and the general feeling of lethargy. This will not concern you much. However, if your symptoms persist for a few days or worsen, and it becomes difficult for you to go about your day just as usual, get it touch with an expert physician at Group One Medical Centre.

AM I ELIGIBLE FOR A FLU SHOT?

Our flu vaccination drive we are offering it to everyone including students and other visa holders at our medical center in Wollert.

SHOULD I AVOID THE FLU VACCINE IF I CAN?

No, taking the vaccine is always the best thing that you can do for your own health, and for those around you. However, some people suffer from allergic reactions to the flu vaccine, so they should avoid the same.

Others who have fever at the time of vaccination, or compromised immunity, a bleeding disorder or Gillian Barre syndrome should also avoid taking the flu shot, or the existing condition might worsen.

We at Group One Medical Centre, Wollert are here to serve all your vaccination needs. If you desire a vaccination statement, the same will also be provided. If you have any queries regarding the influenza vaccine, reach out to a physician today!

Appointments for the Flu Vaccine can be made online through our website, through the HotDoc, in person at reception or by calling 039086 8956
